Mr. Orlando has been a trial lawyer for over twenty-one years. Importantly, the first half of his legal career was dedicated to defending businesses, insurance companies and individuals against whom personal injury and faulty products claims had been asserted. This experience now provides valuable insight into the minds and tactics of insurance companies and gives our law firm an edge in representing the injured party. The Orlando Firm, P.C. is a national law firm. Mr. Orlando maintains offices in Decatur, Georgia (a suburb of Atlanta) and in Brick, New Jersey. In addition, through a sister law firm, Mr. Orlando maintains an office in Tucson, Arizona. This helps assure national coverage of large class or mass action cases.
Presently, in addition to being the only single law firm to have settled cases for a large class of victims related to the Peter Pan Peanut Butter adulteration litigation, Mr. Orlando is involved in five other ongoing class action cases. These include Smart v. Brenntag Mid-South, Inc. (East Point, Georgia, as Lead Counsel), Brasher v. Norfolk Southern Railroad (Lincoln, Alabama, as member of the Plaintiffs' Litigation Management Committee, proposed, admitted pro hac vice), Bradford v. Union Pacific Railroad (Texarkana, Arkansas, as co-Lead Counsel for Plaintiffs' class), and Shapiro v. EQ Chemical (Apex, North Carolina, as member of the Plaintiffs' Litigation Management Committee, proposed, admitted to practice pro hac vice). In addition, Mr. Orlando has been active in several mass tort MDLs (Multi-District Litigation cases) throughout the country in, for instance, the cases involving the faulty drugs Baycol, Propulcid, Rezulin, Fen-Phen, Zyprexa, PPA, Vioxx, Kugel Mesh Hernia Patch and other recalled drug and faulty product cases. The Bio-Lab Class Action case settled in 2008 for $7,500,000.00. Additionally, Mr. Orlando was involved in the recent settlement of the Apex-EQ Toxic Tort Class case for the total sum of $7,800,000.00.
